Oranje to meet defending champions Japan at women’s World Cup

The match will take place next Tuesday night at 04.00 Dutch local time.

Coach Roger Reijners said the match would be ‘an enormous challenge’. ‘Japan is a team that likes to play from the back,’ he said.

Dutch captain Mandy van den Berg said the team is looking forward to the game. ‘But we know it is going to be a very, very tough one,’ she told broadcaster Nos.

Oranje qualified for the round of 16 as one of the best 3rd-placed teams in the group stage with four points.
