Human error to blame for Mohammed cartoon video failure
Human error was behind Saturday’s PVV broadcast fail in which an old video was aired rather than a new one showing American drawings featuring Mohammed.
PVV leader Geert Wilders had pledged to show the drawings during his party’s official airtime after the Dutch parliament refused to exhibit them.
The broadcast went ahead with an old film, leading Wilders to accuse the public broadcaster NPO of sabotage.
Later it emerged media company Infostrada had readied the wrong film ready for transmission. ‘It was down to human error. We are very sorry,’ the company said.
The film will now be broadcast in the PVV’s next television slot on Wednesday, just before 18.00 hours.
