Dutch FA chief Michael van Praag joins Uefa deputy chairmen ranks
The head of the Dutch football association, Michael van Praag, has been appointed deputy chairman of European football body Uefa.
The body has five deputy chairmen supporting Michel Platini. Van Praag, who was already on the Uefa board, replaces Turkey’s Senes Erzik who has to retire because he has turned 70.
Van Praag was recently involved in a campaign to be named chairman of world football body Fifa to replace Sepp Blatter. The Dutchman pulled out to give Jordanian prince Ali bin Al-Hussein a clear run but Blatter went on to win. He has since resigned.
