PSV forward Memphis Depay moves to Manchester United
Dutch forward Memphis Depay is moving to Manchester United for a fee said to be in the region of €30m.
Depay, who is 21 and has scored 21 times for PSV this season, will join Manchester United until 2019, with an option of another year.
The player, who has spent his entire career with the Eindhoven club, said on Twitter: ‘Time to set my goals again on winning trophies with Manchester United.’ If he passes next week’s medical tests, Depay will move to England in the June transfer window.
Depay becomes the 10th Dutch player to join the English side, and will join fellow countrymen Robin van Persie and Danny Blind in the current squad.
Manchester United is managed by former Dutch national coach Louis van Gaal, who took Depay to the World Cup in Brazil last year, where he was one of the surprises of the tournament.
Ajax
In other transfer news on Thursday, Ajax said it is signing midfielder Nemanja Gudelj from AZ for a reported €6m.
The 23-year-old Serbian international has signed a five year contract with the Amsterdam club. His 17-year-old brother Dragisa is also moving to Ajax from NAC.
Reports that the youngsters’ father Nebojsa, sacked as a trainer by NAC in October, is also moving to Ajax as a scout have not been confirmed.
