Go Ahead Eagles relegated to first division after two years at the top
After two seasons in the Eredivisie, Deventer football club Go Ahead Eagles have been relegated back down to the Jupiler League.
Go Ahead lost the second leg of their relegation tie against De Graafschap 0-1, after losing the first leg on Friday with the same score.
The club was forced into the play-offs after finishing 17th in the league competition. FC Dordrecht was automatically relegated after finishing bottom.
NAC of Breda is also involved in a relegation battle and will play the Jupiler League’s Roda JC of Kerkrade next weekend. The other decider is between De Graafschap and FC Volendam.
NEC of Nijmegen who were relegated to the Jupiler league last season after 20 years in top flight football, return to the Eredivisie as league winners.
