The University of Amsterdam has employed two ‘reputation managers’ to make official statements on behalf of the university in the wake of this year’s student protests, the NRC reports on Friday.

Two staffers from outsourcing company Capita are now acting as official spokesmen for the university’s board and have taken over responsibility for internal communication between the board and university staff, the paper says.

They are also working on a new communication strategy in an effort to restore the university’s reputation following the protests, which ended when the board brought in riot police, the NRC says.

Ironically, earlier this week, the University of Amsterdam was listed as the eighth best place in the world for communications and media studies by the QS organisation.
