Road death rate stable, 570 people die in traffic accidents
In total 570 people were killed in accidents on the Dutch roads last year, in line with 2013, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
In 2013, the number of deaths fell by 12% compared with the previous year.
Last year, 14 children were killed in bike accidents and 55 motor bike riders died, an increase on 2013 but similar to previous years.
In total, 411 men and 159 women died in road accidents. The ratio of male to female deaths has remained similar for years, the CBS said.
