Dirk Kuijt rejoins Feyenoord

Feyenoord logoFootballer Dirk Kuijt is returning to Rotterdam club Feyenoord for one season, the club announced on Thursday evening.

The 34-year-old played for Feyenoord between 2003 and 2006, and was the premier league’s top scorer in the 2004-2005 season.

Kuijt has 104 caps as a winger and was one of the stars of the Dutch team at the World Cup in Brazil last year.

He ended his international career last October but continued to play for Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

Intention

‘My contract is for one season, but my intention is to wear the Feyenoord shirt for five years,’ he told Dutch media.

Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel told the club website it is a good day for the club and for the fans. ‘I have every faith he will be of great value,’ he said.

Feyenoord is currently in third place in the premier league table.
