NS to hand out tulips on Monday morning
Passengers at Utrecht central station will be handed a bunch of tulips by staff on Monday morning, rail company NS said on Friday.
The ‘charm offensive’ comes after signaling and points failure caused chaos at the station during last Monday’s icy weather.
According to the NS, the ‘playful’ action has nothing to do with Monday’s disruption. It is part of a global action week under the slogan ‘random acts of kindness’.
A spokesman said the NS is not expecting adverse criticism for the action. ‘We have handed out flowers in the past and they were always positively received,’ he said.
