Two people were shot dead in a house in Rotterdam-Zuid on Thursday in what police say may be a gangland killing.

Another man was injured in a shooting incident close by. He is said to have alerted the police, who are investigating if there is a connection between the incidents. They took place a short distance from each other in the IJsselmonde district.

According to local broadcaster RTV Rijnmond, the killers may have driven away in a van.

Police have sealed off the section of the Bovenstraat where the two dead people were found.
