Six out of 10 jobless people find new work within a year
Some 60% of people who claim unemployment benefits (ww) in the Netherlands get a job within a year, according to the national statistics office CBS.
The CBS analysed jobless figures between 2009 an 2011, when around 300,000 people a year lost their job. Of them, 45% had a new job in six months and 75% found work within two years.
Age had a considerable impact on the likelihood of finding a job, the CBS said. Half the under 45s have a new job within six months but the over 45s took two years to reach a similar success rate.
