Ako book shops to stock Charlie Hebdo special edition
Ako book shops at the main Dutch railway stations and Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport will stock the special edition of the French satirical publication Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday or Thursday, the Parool reports.
There will, however, only be 500 copies available. ‘Not many,’ Kris Serrien of magazine distributors Betapress told the paper. ‘We asked for 2,500 but French-speaking countries are being given priority.’
The special edition, published in defiance of the terrorist attack on the publication’s Paris offices last week which cost 12 cartoonists and journalists their lives, has a print run of three million – the usual print run is 70,000. The front cover carries a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed with a tear.
