Eindhoven airport passenger numbers near four million in 2014
The number of passengers using Eindhoven airport rose 16% to over 3.9 million this year, the airport authority said on Monday. The number of take-offs and landings was up 9% at 28,900.
The airport expects to carry 4.1 million passengers in 2015.
The growth in passenger numbers is due to an expansion in the number of destinations served by Eindhoven – an increase of six on 2013 to 76. Murcia, Manchester and Turin were among the new destinations.
Director Joost Meijs said important agreements have now been made about accessibility and more people are now using the train to reach the airport. This will justify a dedicated railway station in the long term, he said.
