Dutch women win swimming relay gold with new world record
The Dutch women’s relay team won the gold medal in the 4×200 relay event and set a new world record at the swimming short course world championships at Doha in Qatar on Wednesday evening.
Inge Dekker, Femke Heemskerk, Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Sharon van Rouwendaal completed the distance in 7.32.85, 3.09 faster than the world record set by China four years ago.
The Netherlands also took the relay title in 2008 with a world record and three of the same team: Dekker, Heemskerk and Kromowidjojo.
