Christmas brings €146m extra for online shops
Online shops saw weekly turnover rise 38% this Christmas, adding an extra €146m to their coffers, according to sector organisation Thuiswinkel.
With consumers spending €530m on gifts this week, the trend for the Dutch to buy more for Christmas than for Sinterklaas continues.
The most popular purchases are the board games Monopoly and Risk, video games Grand Theft Auto V and Fifa ’15, smartphones, smart watches, e-readers and toasters.
