Quote 500 rich list becomes more Dutch, has new leader
The Quote 500 rich list, published every year by business magazine Quote, has a new leader – the founder of temporary employment agency Frits Goldschmeding.
Goldschmeding is said to have assets of €3.2bn and has replaced Charlene de Carvalho, heiress to the Heineken beer fortune.
Editor Mirjam van den Broeke told tv programme RTLZ that De Carvalho, with estimated assets of €7.3bn, has been shifted into a separate list of Dutch nationals who do not live in the Netherlands.
Number two on the Dutch list is businessman and building group boss Dik Wessels (€2.4bn) and in third place is media magnate John de Mol (€2.3bn).
The break-up of the list is the second in four years. In 2012, the Brenninkmeijer family was removed from its number one position and placed on a separate list of the most wealthy Dutch families.
