Housing market recovery continues, sales up 24% in August
The number of homes changing hands in August was up almost 24% on a year ago, providing further evidence of recovery on the housing market.
The land registry office (kadaster) said on Wednesday 12,328 homes were sold in August. All types of housing benefited from the increase but apartment sales rose the most – at 30%.
The number of house sales forced because owners were unable to pay their mortgages fell by nearly 18% to 78.
