Officials again fail to reach MH17 crash site, MPs criticise Kiev

Officials from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe have once again failed to reach the MH17 crash site in Ukraine because of the security situation, Nos television reports.

On Tuesday there was also heavy fighting between pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian government forces which prevented Dutch accident investigators reaching the area where the Malaysia Airways plane came down, killing 298 people.

Part of the 35 kilometre area where the Boeing 777 crashed is in the hands of the rebels.

Goodwill

The Dutch parliament debated the security situation in the region on Tuesday night and some MPs warned Kiev that it risks losing goodwill because of the conflict.

Both sides had pledged a cease fire to enable the remaining bodies to be brought out and taken to the Netherlands.

Officials charged with finding and repatriating the last victims have been unable to access the area for several days because it is too risky.
