The recession is over for some

One-third of the Dutch think the economic crisis is over, according to research for the family spending institute Nibud.

High-earning, well-educated men are most likely to think the recession is at an end, Nibud said.

However, despite some optimism, 66% of the Dutch do not think the crisis is over and have not noticed any improvement in their own personal situation. One in five thinks things are getting worse on an individual level.

Last year, 70% of the Dutch made economies and 69% will do so this year, Nibud said.
