A Cambodian man has been arrested for the murder of a Dutch woman whose body was found in her house in the capital Phnom Penh on Monday.
Daphna Beerdsen was attacked when she saw a man trying to steal her bicycle. The 31-year-old screamed for help and the man stabbed her and her 19-month-old daughter several times with a screwdriver.
The child was taken to a hospital in Bangkok with severe wounds and underwent a brain operation on Tuesday evening.
According to the Cambodian police in The Phnom Penh Post, the 31-year-old suspect was carrying the woman’s handbag containing ‘her ID card or passport’.
