Last day of bad air quality, but no Dutch smog warning
The Netherlands is again being affected by smog on Thursday, thanks to a combination of dry weather, high pressure, dust from the Sahara and pollen, but rain is expected to end the situation on Friday.
The public health institute RIVM says smog has been affecting the country all week and today pollution levels are likely to reach a peak.
In the south-east of England, where smog levels are similar, a smog warning has been issued and people with lung problems have been warned to take extra care.
No smog warning has been issued in the Netherlands because the danger level is considered to be twice as high here as in Britain, broadcaster Nos reports.
