Are you suitable to represent the PVV? Take the party’s own quiz

A quiz based on general knowledge about the Netherlands is one of the key elements in the selection process for potential PVV representatives, the Volkskrant reports on Thursday.

Last September, candidates for the provincial elections were required to take a multiple choice test asking such questions as ‘what is the name of king Willem-Alexander’s oldest daughter?’ and ‘when was the first Dutch constitution?’.

They were also asked questions about Geert Wilders’ trial for inciting hatred and if they could recognise various local government figures.

Only the top scorers were considered suitable to represent the party in next year’s provincial elections, the paper says.

‘It is easy to make jokes about the quiz but you do learn a lot from it,’ said Joost van Hooff, who represents the anti-immigration party in Noord-Holland province.

‘It is not about the questions themselves… it is about the level of the people taking part and finding out if they know anything about politics.’

Take the test (Dutch only but easy to understand)
