Swiss investigate bribery and fraud at Imtech subsidiary
The Swiss authorities are investigating allegations of fraud involving a subsidiary of Dutch technical services company Imtech.
The Telegraaf reported on Wednesday morning that the fraud revolves around Imtech unit Fritz & Macziol which was taken over in 2006.
The paper claims directors at Fritz & Macziol bought off a highly-placed civil servant and stole millions of Swiss francs using fake invoices.
The company later confirmed the investigation, saying that it has begun an internal inquiry.
Imtech is currently embroiled in fraud cases affecting its operations in Germany and Poland. The Swiss unit has a workforce of 45 and books annual turnover of some €25m, the company said.
