Boskalis pulls out of bidding for Israeli port: Israeli media

Port services company Boskalis Westminister has become the latest Dutch firm to pull out of an Israeli project after dropping out of the bidding to build private seaports, according to Israeli paper Haaretz.

Boskalis Westminster had submitted a proposal under the name Holland Terminal in the pre-qualification stage last December but dropped out shortly thereafter, the paper says. Haartez says the withdrawal comes ‘as boycott pressure on Israel has grown’.

Boskalis has not yet commented on the claims, news agency ANP reports.

Last month, pension group PGGM announced it was ending its investments in five Israeli banks because they were helping finance Jewish settlements in the Occupied Territories. In December, water company Vitens scrapped its alliance with Israeli water group Mokorot.
