Dutch tour operators predict chaos over new Turkish visa rules
Holidaymakers heading to Turkey this spring will have to buy a new digital visa before leaving and Dutch tour operators say they fear adminstrative chaos, Nos news reports on Thursday.
Dutch tourists have always been issued with a visa on arrival at their holiday destination, but from April 10 they will have to order and print out a new visa in advance.
Tour operator TUI has called on Turkey to continue to provide airport visas, saying it expects many people will forget to apply in advance and risk a ruined holiday.
TUI is also angry that visas can only be paid for via credit card rather than the Dutch banks iDeal payment system. Many Dutch people do not have a credit card.
Turkey is one of the most popular destinations for Dutch sunseekers.
