Ajax to Austria, AZ to Czech Republic in Europa League knock-outs
Amsterdam football club Ajax will meet Austrian club FC Salzburg in the first knock-out round of the Europa League.
Ajax was elimated from the Champions League last week after a 0-0 draw against AC Milan and automatically qualified for the second level tournament.
Salzburg emerged as group C in the Europa League by winning all its games. The club, owned by drinks company Red Bull, is also current Austrian league champion with 43 points from 19 matches.
If Ajax beat the Austrians, they will meet the winner of Maccabi Tel Aviv and FC Basel.
AZ, the only other remaining Dutch team in the Europa League, will meet Czech club Slovan Liberec. The club is currently in sixth place in the Czech premier league.
A victory will see AZ take on either Anzhi Makhachkala of Russia or Belgian side Racing Genk.
