Ajax, down to 10 men, beat Barcelona in Champions League tie
Amsterdam football club Ajax ended Barcelona’s unbeaten record in this year’s Champion’s League competition with a 2-1 win in the Dutch capital on Tuesday night.
Ajax were down to 10 men for almost half the match. The goals came from Thulani Serero and Danny Hoesen and put the Amsterdammers one point behind the leading two in Group H.
Ajax lost their previous nine encounters with the Spanish side.
Meanwhile, an Ajax supporter who fell from the first ring in the Arena stadium during the first half of the match is seriously ill with head injuries in hospital, news agency ANP said.
