Willem-Alexander and Máxima to visit South America
King Willem-Alexander and queen Máxima will make a ‘getting to know you’ visit to Venezuela and Colombia at the end of November.
The state information service RVD has not yet announced the visit, but sources confirmed the trip to the Nos.
The visit to the South American countries comes at the end of an already planned trip to former colonies in the Caribbean which are now independent but still part of the Netherlands.
The two South America countries are important to the Dutch Caribbean islands. Venezuela works closely with islands such as Curaçao in the drugs war in the area. The Netherlands is the most important European investor after Spain in Colombia.
