Police list house break-ins on interactive website map

Dutch police have launched a new website to give a ‘realistic and current’ picture of the location and frequency of break-ins nationwide.

All break-ins which have been reported to the police over the past three months are included on the site by postcode and the aim is to update the site every 24 hours.

Police hope the map will lead people to be more alert about suspicious people or incidents and will encourage them to take extra steps to keep their homes secure.

The website was difficult to access on Monday morning because it was overloaded with visitors.
