Health minister Edith Schippers is the most powerful woman in the Netherlands, according to the new ranking from feminist magazine Opzij.

‘There is a lot weight on her shoulders, both now and in the coming months, but Schippers knows how to carry it cleverly,’ the jury said in their verdict.

‘She is the first person in years to succeed in ensuring the government spends less on healthcare than the budget.’
