Sale of players boosts Ajax profits
Amsterdam football club Ajax booked net profit of €18m over the 2012/13 season, up €8.5m on the previous one, the club said on Thursday.
The increase is due to the sale of players, which raised €24m last year, up from €13.6m in the previous season. Jan Verthongen went to Tottenham Hotspur, Gregory van der Wiel to Paris Saint-Germain and Vurnon Anita to Newcastle United.
Ajax, which is listed on the Amsterdam stock exchange, booked a slight increase in turnover at €105.6m.
