Amsterdam housing market attracts more young people
The number of young people setting up their first home in Amsterdam rose 9% between 2005 and 2010, while the number of students in student accommodation increased 30%, according to a new report.
The figures are contained in a report published on Tuesday by Amsterdam University on behalf of the home affairs ministry.
According to the report, first-time buyers and tenants are not frightened off by the high cost of living in the city, although many of them live in Greater Amsterdam, outside the ring road.
