AZ, PSV line up for Europa League

AZ Alkmaar claimed the last place in the group stage of the Europa League on Friday morning, defeating Greek side Atromitos FC on away goals.

AZ’s 1-3 away win was enough to give the Alkmaar side a place in the next round, despite losing 2-0 in the second leg.

AZ will meet Greek club PAOK FC, Israel’s Maccabi Haifa and Shakhter Karagandy – Kazakhstan’s first participants in the group stage – in Group L.

PSV Eindhoven, in group B, will play Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb, Ukranian side Chornomorets Odesa and Bulgaria’s Ludogorets Razgrad.

The competition kicks off on September 19.
