Kerkrade campaigns against arrival of paedophile
The people of Kerkrade have set up an action committee to prevent convicted paedophile Benno L being housed in their town.
Swimming teacher Benno L, who was jailed in 2010 for abusing a number of girls in his care but is now on supervised release, has asked to be housed in the Brabant town.
Kerkrade’s inhabitants say he should not live in a busy area full of children, and have set up a Facebook page and hung a banner airing their views on the town hall, local broadcaster L1 reports.
L was arrested in June 2009 after hundreds of suspect photographs and films were found on his computer. He ran a swimming school specialising in teaching handicapped children to swim.
