Dutch master criminal jailed in Lebanon for cocaine smuggling

Dutch underworld figure Mink K has been jailed in Lebanon for his role in a cocaine smuggling ring, news agency ANP said on Wednesday.

K had faced a life sentence but was jailed for eight years and fined €50,000 for smuggling 53 kilos of cocaine. He was arrested in the Lebanese city of Kaslik in 2011. Two other men were also jailed for eight years.

K, who once described himself as a ‘criminal by conviction’, is suspected of earning millions of euros from drugs and arms trading in the 1990s. He has twice been convicted in the Netherlands.
