Abducted Dutch tourist at centre of Australian abuse case
A 21-year-old Dutch tourist was subjected to physical assaults, death threats, sexual abuse and mental trauma over a six week period at the end of last year after being held captive in a Melbourne hotel, according to Australian media reports.
A 46-year-old man has appeared in court in Melbourne charged with 100 offences, including 62 counts of rape, 94 counts of assault and 10 counts of threatening to kill, the Herald Sun reported.
The case was adjourned on Friday to allow some 450 hours of video evidence to be examined. The offences allegedly took place over a six week period in November and December 2012.
