Dutch student killed, three others injured in Suriname

A 21-year-old Dutch student has been killed in a car crash while on a work-experience placement in Suriname, RTL news reports.

Three other Dutch students were seriously injured in the crash. The four were part of a group of trainees and Surinamese nationals in a minibus returning from the Ston Eiland holiday resort.

The students have been taken to Paramaribo university hospital.

It is not clear what caused the minibus to flip over and an accident investigation is under way, RTL said.
