Van Gogh museum reopens after seven-month revamp

Amsterdam’s Van Gogh museum reopened on Wednesday after a seven-month closure for repairs and maintenance.

The museum has been given new floors, the walls have been painted and a new climatisation system has been installed. Work will continue on moving the entrance to the Museumplein itself over the next 18 months.

The reopening of the Van Gogh means the big three museums are all once again open to the public.

The Rijksmuseum opened last month after being closed for 10 years for a major revamp. The Stedelijk modern art museum reopened at the end of last year with a major new extension.
