Police are examining all surveillance camera footage taken on the 20 km stretch of road between the towns of Rhenen and Doorn in their efforts to find two young boys.

Ruben, 9, and Julian, 7, have not been seen since Monday evening when they were spotted in a car with their father. He was found dead in woods near Doorn, southeast of Utrecht, on Tuesday morning, having committed suicide.

Despite the search of the same woods, and another area of woodland in Limburg, no traces of the boys have been found. Their parents are divorced and the children were spending some time with their father.

The car was seen at 01.40 hours on Tuesday morning on the N233 in Rhenen but it is unclear if the boys were in it.
