In the pink: League champions Ajax launch new away strip
Amsterdam football club Ajax caused a mini stir on Wednesday with the launch of its new away strip – two shades of grey with pink stripes.
Captain Siem de Jong and other players made surprise visits to the homes of some fans to deliver the shirt, and take along the Eredivisie plate, which the club clinched on Sunday.
The new shirt has not gone down well with some fans. One said on Twitter: ‘either the designer is colour blind or hates the club’.
The team will play in the new strip this weekend during the final match of the season against Groningen.
