Strong winds will die down in evening, hay fever sufferers beware

The strong winds which buffeted much of the Netherlands on Thursday will die down overnight, weather forecasters said.

Winds gusting at up to 90kph caused problems on the roads in coastal areas, blowing over lorries on the N9 and the N247, RTL news reported.

‘This evening and tonight the winds will weaken but can still cause problems in places,’ RTL weatherman Peter Timofeeff said. The strong wind is causing particular difficulties for people with hay fever because it is spreading pollen, Timofeeff said.
