Ajax maintains premier division lead
Despite being down to 10 men for much of the match, Amsterdam football club Ajax maintained their lead of the premier division on Sunday with a 4-0 win over Heracles Almelo.
PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem both won their matches to continue in joint second place, three points behind Ajax.
PSV were 3-1 winners at bottom club Willem II while Vitesse beat NAC Breda 3-1. Premier division top scorer Wilfried Bony made the first and third goals for Vitesse.
Feyenoord is one point behind on 59 after a 1-0 win against VVV on Friday evening.
Alkmaar side AZ are now four points clear of the relegation zone after a 1-1 draw against NEC.
