Two stolen Kunsthal paintings recovered, say Romanian media
Unconfirmed Romanian media reports say two of the seven paintings stolen from Rotterdam’s Kunsthal museum last year have been recovered.
Earlier this week, three Romanian nationals were arrested in connection with the heist. Romanian broadcaster Antena 3 said on Friday two of the works have been found in the northern city of Lasi.
Dutch police have been unable to confirm the find, the NRC said.
Seven paintings, including works by Picasso, Monet and Matisse, were stolen during the raid on the gallery in October last year. The total value of the haul was put by some experts at up to €100m.
