Five professional football clubs still in danger zone

Five of the Netherlands 35 professional football clubs are still in the financial danger zone, the football association KNVB said on Wednesday.

Premier division side ADO Den Haag and four Jupiler (first division) clubs – FC Dordrecht, Fortuna Sittard, Helmond Sport and SC Veendam – all need to get their finances in order within the next three years.

Ten clubs are now in the most secure financial category, up from seven a year ago. Amsterdam club Ajax, FC Groningen, SC Heerenveen and PSV are the only premier division clubs with the highest rating.
