Arrests outside Dutch embassy in Moscow
Eight people have been arrested outside the Dutch embassy in Moscow during a protest about the suicide of a Russian activist in a Dutch refugee deportation centre, Nos television reports.
The protestors lit flares and unrolled a banner reading ‘Dolmatov’s blood is on you,’ the broadcaster said. It is unclear how many people were involved in the protest, which had not been licenced by the authorities, Nos said.
Aleksander Dolmatov killed himself last week, several days after hearing his claim for political asylum had been rejected. He was transfered to a deportation centre, where he took his own life.
Dolmatov had asked for asylum last June after being arrested during an anti-president Putin rally.
