Household spending drops again in March
Consumers spent less on goods and services in March and the decline was larger than in previous months, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.
Compared with March 2011, consumer spending fell by 2.1%. The figures show spending has been going down since last summer.
Spending on food fell 2.9% but consumers did spend more on clothes and shoes, the CBS said.
On Tuesday, the CBS said consumer confidence fell again in May.
