Last post office to shut in October
The last post office in the Netherlands, on the Neude in Utrecht, will shut its doors on October 28, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.
At the moment, there are still 14 traditional post offices in the Netherlands. The closure of all 250 post offices was announced in 2009.
Postkantoren, the joint venture between ING and TNT Post which runs the post offices, says on average 2.5 sales points have emerged to replace each post office which closes.
In total, there are now some 2,400 sales points in supermarkets and shops where consumers can buy stamps and post parcels.
