France remains favourite holiday destination
France remains the favourite holiday destination of the Dutch, with around 1.5 million people planning to spend time there this summer, the ANWB motoring organisation says.
Germany is second on the list of popular holiday haunts with 950,000 people on target to visit in the summer. Spain is third, with a forecast 860,000 Dutch visitors.
The Czech Republic, Britain, Croatia and Norway have become much less popular, the ANWB says.
Popular this year are luxury all-in resorts, rather than apartment complexes. Cruises are also increasing in popularity. Nevertheless, camping remains the favourite way to have a holiday for the Dutch. Some 3.7 million people will be packing their tents this summer.
