D66, Christian parties want fairer tax for single people

The Liberal democrats D66 and two orthodox Christian parties – SGP and ChristenUnie – are calling for changes in the tax laws to make sure single people are not taxed more heavily than couples.


At the moment, a single person earning €40,000 a year pays €5,000 more tax than a couple with the same combined income, news agency ANP reports.
