Media reports about the criminal pasts and lies told by MPs from the PVV are not destabilising the coalition government, prime minister Mark Rutte said on Friday.

PVV parliamentarians are ‘very correct and their signatures are good,’ Rutte said at his weekly press conference.
Rutte’s minority VVD and Christian Democrat government has an alliance with the anti-Islam party. The PVV has agreed to support the government’s plans to cut spending bya €18bn in return for tougher immigration rules.
Witch hunt

This week there has been a constant stream of new claims and allegations about the pasts of PVV parliamentarians which were not known to party leader Geert Wilders.
Wilders himself said earlier on Friday the media investigations were a ‘vulgar witch hunt’ and that he would no longer comment on every incident.
Rutte said he did have an opinion about the latest revelations but that he would not divulge it.
CDA
Christian Democrat leader Maxime Verhagen told reporters they were going about their work very thoroughly. ‘But that is fine by me. I have no problem with it. And you can always look into my past,’ Verhagen said.
Other CDA ministers refused to go into the case in detail, but said MPs should behave impeccably.
Wilders has not yet commented on claims that MP Eric Lucassen is still claiming some form of social security benefit and that Hero Brinkman deliberately drove off from a police alcohol check while still a police officer himself.
